I am loving how our entry way is turning out and couldn't wait to share it with you before I start decorating for Fall! We still have some architectural and lighting changes we want to make in this space, but we officially have our furniture and decor pieces taken care of.
When I was designing this space, it was important to set the tone for guests when they first come into our home by blending both my and Adrian's design styles. I also wanted to use pieces that could easily transition with the seasons since I love getting festive and decorating for the holidays.

How pretty is the mix of old and new, rustic and modern?! This gorgeous light-yellow runner is from Green Front Furniture in Raleigh. I fell in love with this rug when I saw it, and even when we had it laid out on the floor another couple came in looking at rugs and the wife looked at this one and said, "oh this one is pretty", I knew I had to scoop it up before anyone else did. After our trip there, we went to their main campus in Farmville, VA and found this console table by Theodore Alexander. Adrian loved the modern look of the table, and even though the lines and look of the table are modern- the finish is pretty so I could work with it.
Since the table is more modern, I wanted to balance that out with some accessories that are more my style. I found this old column base at Cotton Wood Cottage in downtown Apex last year. I then added some Pottery Barn flameless candles and glass hurricanes from West Elm on top and around this architectural piece. The orchid is from Trader Joe's (I swear, they have the best orchids for the price) and the pot I just purchased from Atlantic Gardening in Raleigh this past weekend!
Last but not least- the mirror. My mom and I found this mirror last year at Mill Village Outlet in Raleigh. It's a fabric store, but they also have furniture and accessories from stage homes. I've always loved a windowpane style mirror, the price was right, so we got it. The bronze finish was pretty but once we got the table and set the mirror on top, it was just too sharp of a contrast for me, so I decided to use some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to transform a bronze metal mirror to more of a wood-look. I did two coats of Country Grey, one coat of Dark Wax, followed by a light coat of White Wax. After the White Wax, the mirror was a little too grey after that, so I added a little more of the Dark Wax on top to warm it back up a bit. It is now the perfect shade and blends so beautifully with the table and accessories.

Pro Tip: If you fall in love with a piece while out shopping but it's not quite the color, you want- just remember you can pretty much always change that!
By blending modern and French county styles in our entryway, we are able to convey our unique styles whenever guests walk through the front door. Thoughtfully combining sleek, contemporary lines with the warmth and charm of rustic, vintage elements create a space that's both inviting and personal. Each piece has been chosen carefully and over a period of time, merging different styles to create a cohesive look. This approach celebrates both individuality and unity, proving that when different styles come together, they can create something truly one-of-a-kind- a home that's a reflection of everyone living there.
